LET'S DANCE!
At the end of each section, there will be a lesson titled, Let's Dance! This is your time to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, and I would argue that it is the MOST IMPORTANT part of learning to dance. During a private, in-person lesson, you may spend from a few minutes to half of the lesson just practicing one step.
Some tips on how to practice:
- Set a timer for your practice session or simply hit play on the 10-minute timer video in each practice section. It will chime when it's over. You may need more or less time than 10 minutes depending on the complexity of the step you're working on. If you feel good after 10 minutes, feel free to move on. If you don't, start the timer again and keep working on it. You can also just practice dancing to your song a few times.
- Don't move on to the next section until you BOTH feel good about the steps you've learned so far. You'll thank me later for saving you lots of frustration!
- Be patient with each other. Sometimes one partner picks it up faster than the other. Be patient. They'll get it eventually.
